Peacecamp 2006

Philipp:
I personally don’t have specific expectations for peace camp 2006. I hope we will spend time together, discussing various topics, but also to have the possibility to do sports and have free time, which in my aspect is very important.

My only aim is to have a good time with people I don’t know yet. I don’t expect something special, only nice ten days.

My specific task will be to present the Austrian history to all participants. Of course I will also try to participate will a lot of vigour.

Tamara:
I expect that we will do a lot of sport, that we have free time for ourselves and that it will be a big experience for all of us. Of course I want to discuss several topics we will talk about.

I want to take home friendships, knowledge and life style about other cultures and participants. Maybe we learn to have less prejudges.

I think the culture evening is a very good idea and with this project everybody contributes something. I also think that the discussions will bring us more together.

1) I expect to meat new people and learn about their cultures, have a lot of fun together. Other cultures pick my crudity.

2) I would like to have found some new friends when I am back home.

3) I would like to discuss with people of my age from other cultures and learn about their habits, because I think that most of the troubles existing in the world are a result of not knowing the other one. The more you know and understand from other people, the more a peaceful dialog should be possible.

1. my expectations? hmm to get to know new people! to share our experiences, to learn something about their culture, family and political minds.
2. what i'd like to take home.....new friendships, knowledge and a little bit of "information" about myself as well.
3. i will listen to what everybody has to say, try to be communicative, open for anything and interested. i will try my best to also reveal alot about myself and share my opinions with others.

1) What are your expectations of peacecamp 2006? What should happen
there?

Hot dialogues and different points of view, small war between the
little
ambassadors that will end in
huge
peace and fellowship( I expect a lot of mini adventures here and
there).

2) What would you like to "take home" from peacecamp 2006?
- Not just a good Memory but something that can be touch forever like
friendship.
- To recognize my self better, by knowing my pluses and my minuses.
- Feeling the sense of touch the prosperity of peace, after taste the
disadvantages of war.

3) What will you personally contribute to this encounter?

I will contribute my experience and my knowledge, trying to combine
some
comedy and fun in it.

1. What are your expectations of Peacecamp 2006? What should happen
there?

I have high expectations of this peace camp =). I expect to experience
interactions with different opinions and different approaches to the
situation we are dealing with today. We live in a very sensitive area
with
great problems that, indeed, cause a lot of hatred on both sides, and
through camps like these, and different interactions we get to share
our
views and talk about our differences and our long mistaken hate. We
should
come into the camp with open minds and be ready to be both befriended,
and
attacked, and with both of these hopefully reach a level of
understanding
and acceptance.

2. What would you like to "take home" from peacecamp 2006?

I would like to take home a good experience, ofcourse, and a more open
mind.
Being with both Israelis and Palestinians at the same time will
probably
open up a lot of new ways and close up a lot of old flawed ways. And I
would
hope that this camp would do that and much more like: exploring new
cultures
and a different country, explore hidden feelings from the political
disagreement, and the satisfaction that other people were educated
about
your personal political situation and how it might affect them.

3. What will you personally contribute to this encounter?

I contribute an open mind that is willing to give others to speak their
feelings and give them a chance to speak their own mind, be it what
may. I
contribute my respect and understanding; keeping in mind they have
feelings,
just like I do. I will contribute a smile so we all could have more
good
times than bad. And I will contribute my understanding of the situation
and
how it affected me, hoping it would educate and help others realize the
horror we live in and that it should stop.

Answers:

1. What are your expectations of peacecamp 2006? What should happen there?

Generally, I’m expecting a lot of things that would empower my personality and enhance my skills. As travelling abroad this means that I’ll become more self- independent and more able to represent myself in front people different than my society. Additionally, I’ll learn how to better dialogue with regards to my communication skills.

I think that we need to be like one body over there because we are going to be one team so we should help each other as we work together.
However, I think that if we are going to be in large numbers, then better as we are divided into small workshops to mingle us each time. Thus, there would be a chance that all the participants will get to know each other and exchange points of views.





2. What would you like to "take home" from peacecamp 2006?

Meeting new people, different faces and cultures will give me the chance to go back home with new friends that are different than my culture and new ways of thinking as I’ll exchange ideas with the others in the camp.
I’ll for sure take *that sense of team work that will be one effective step in my future life of studying then working.

3. What will you personally contribute to this encounter?

First of all I’ll try to be friends with everyone there and I mean by friends all the spirit that this word holds as (help each other, share all the experience we have and respect the different points of views).
I’ll commit myself to any volunteer work available there during the camp and will try my best to help in making this camp an effective and successful one.
As coming back home, I hope that meetings would continue to further shape what fruits we gained at the camp.
